Joint Manipulation
Rarely is a joint out of place. Rather, what often happens is that a joint loses movement. I use a variety of techniques to restore proper motion to hypo-mobile segments, reduce pain, restore circulation and normalize muscle tone.
Some of these techniques employ a gentle, shallow thrust while others may use range of motion and pressure. These techniques include:
- Diversified Manipulation
- Sacral Occipital Techniques
- Thompson Drop Technique
- Coxflexion Distraction
- Instrument assisted manipulation(Activator)
- Mobilization

Soft Tissue Therapy
I employ muscle techniques to normalize muscle activation, stabilize joints and relieve pain. The following are some of the techniques I use:
- Active Muscle Release: involves trapping the affected tissue with my thumb or fingers and then moving the tissue from its shortened position to an elongated position.
- Post-Isometric Relaxation: involves contracting a tense muscle isometrically against resistance and then encouraging it to lengthen during a period of complete voluntary relaxation.
- Ischemic Compression: involves applying direct pressure to a trigger point in the muscle, followed by releasing the pressure. This technique reduces tension, restores circulation and promotes healing.

Therapeutic Exercise
Therapeutic exercises are prescribed exercises specific to each patient’s condition and ability. The exercises correct an impairment, improve muscles function, or maintain a state of well-being. Therapeutic exercise seeks to accomplish the following goals:
- Retrain muscles
- Restore joint function
- Prevent recurring injuries
- Prevent doctor visits
Additionally, I equip my patient with innovative techniques for maintaining proper posture, improving lifting mechanics or workouts, and determining Do's and Don'ts related to certain jobs or daily activities.
The effectiveness of this treatment protocol depends on the patient's commitment to their therapeutic exercises and doctor’s recommendations. |

Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into precise points on the body to promote natural healing and normalize function. Acupuncture can promote local and systemic effects. The World Health Organization recognizes that Acupuncture can treat the following disorders.
- Digestive disorders: gastritis and hyperacidity, spastic colon, constipation, diarrhea.
- Respiratory disorders: sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma, recurrent chest infections.
- Neurological and muscular disorders: headaches, facial tics, neck pain, rib neuritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, various forms of tendinitis, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis.
- Urinary, menstrual, and reproductive problems.
Acupuncture is particularly useful in resolving physical problems related to tension, stress and emotional conditions.
I offer needleless techniques if the patient requests or the patient’s condition contraindicates the use of needles. |

Decompression Therapy
Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a revolutionary new technology used to treat the following conditions:
- Bulging discs or Herniated discs
- Pinched nerves
- Sciatica
- Radiating arm pain or leg pain
- Degenerative disc disease
- Facet syndromes
Cycles of decompression and partial relaxation are applied to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. This technique improves segmental mobility at targeted segments and thus may reduce pressure off adjacent nerve roots, the thecal sac or both. The process happens microscopically with each treatment, but cumulatively, over 4-8 weeks the results can be dramatic. |

Pregnancy and Chiropractic Care
During pregnancy many physical changes occur. These changes result in increased spinal load and reduced stability predisposing the pregnant mother to pain and potential for injury.
The following are some changes that occur during pregnancy:
- Increased spinal curves
- Joint and ligament laxity
- Overstretching of abdominal, pelvic floor, buttock and shoulder blade muscles
- Tightening of low back, hip, pectoral and upper back muscles.
These changes lead to nerve compression syndromes, low back and pelvic pain discomfort, upper back and neck discomfort and fatigue, stress incontinence and extremity symptoms.
Taking care of pregnant patients is a great interest of mine. My treatment strategy is tailored specifically to each patient and the techniques that I utilize are very gentle and safe for the mother and baby. I utilize a variety of manual therapy techniques; joint moblization or manipulation and soft tissue treatments. Stabilization exercises are an integral part of the treatment and belting may be necessary. |
